DESCRIPTION
The Assistant General Manager – Engineer is an at-will employee appointed by and reports directly to the General Manager. The Assistant General Manager is a key member of the management team and assists the General Manager in planning, organizing and supervising the engineering operations and functions of the District including sustainable water resource development and management strategies, providing oversight of consulting engineers and administration of related contracts, assisting with budget development and review, and acting on behalf of the General Manager in the General Managers absence.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field from an accredited college or university, and ten years management or supervisory experience in a public agency, of which five were in upper management in a technical or executive capacity involving responsibility for analyzing, planning, organizing, directing and financing a water supply reliability program and capital projects for a water agency. A California Professional Engineering license is required. A Master’s Degree and experience managing large capital projects are highly desirable.
